What I want to answer with this post (long though it may be) is: Why did Web 2.0 We had email, instant messaging, group calendars, discussion boards, etc. They had a proprietary browser, their own search engine, their own content, chat rooms, email system, etc. Social Networking in Web 1.0: It isn’t new stuff.

Management teams whisk through slides trying to get through a presentation to share how great things are going and they are eager to get through the meeting so they can get back to their real jobs. Once you prepare the deck each department that contributed slides feels compelled to get it’s half hour of time presenting their progress.

I've recently received several emails from people looking for a technical cofounder for their startup. Here's an example of that kind of email. The bad news is that Finding Developers is Tough Here in Los Angeles and even people willing to pay have a hard time finding Web Development in Los Angeles.
