A examination of Google's posted jobs in Santa Monica and Irvine on Friday show that there are only about 32 positions listed for those locations. Google has offices in Santa Monica, and recently leased 100,000 square feet in Venice.

Siemer Ventures Boosts Portfolio To 55 Companies

Local Santa Monica-based venture investor Siemer Ventures has boosted its total number of investments to 55 companies, the firm announced this week, after adding nine new companies in the second quarter of the year. Siemer Ventures said that it added the nine companies as part of its Siemer Ventures II portfolio, with the majority of those investments in Southern California. Siemer has been a significant presence in early stage funding for startups in Silicon Beach.
