This is a private group of CTOs who are responsible for softwaredevelopment within their companies. They are generally the senior most person responsible for custom softwaredevelopment, database design, database administration, web development, etc. Yes, there are some events around particular technologies.
SouthernCalifornia is the center of the entertainment industry, which not only includes the world of Hollywood, movies and film, and television, but is also the home of the music industry. We've compiled a list of five of the startups that are revolutionizing some part of music, based here in SouthernCalifornia.
I just had an all-too common conversation with the founder of a startup who had spent more than a year working with a softwaredevelopment company who had produced a mess. The mess really comes from a developer who was willing to get started on a product that was not fully thought out.
This is purely anecdotal, but it seems like a lot of companies are hiring technology talent here in SouthernCalifornia. I’ve recently seen several tweets from softwaredevelopment companies looking for talent. And I’ve heard from several people looking for Startup SoftwareDevelopers.
One complaint we sometimes hear from venture capitalists visiting SouthernCalifornia for the first time, is the difficulty of finding experienced entrepreneurs and executives. Instead, what they had was a contract that promised Agile SoftwareDevelopment with Rapid Iterations and an incredibly vague list of features. In all four cases, I would claim that what's at fault is a common misunderstanding in Agile SoftwareDevelopment. My belief is that you shouldn't sign that contract.
There’s quite a bit of truth to what Mark is saying about startup softwaredevelopers, but my guess is that there’s another reason that it seems harder to find developers in this context. So, likely quite a few of the people who were seeking startup developers were looking to find people for very low dollars.
