Avalon Ventures , the La Jolla- and Cambridge-based venture capital firm, has backed a new startup, Pingup , which lets consumers text nightclubs for reservations and information. According to Pingup Tuesday, it raised $1M in a seed funding round from Avalon Ventures, led by Brady Bohrmann.
