For this morning's interview, we thought we'd talk with Los Angeles-based Sidebar (www.sidebar.com), a venture backed startup in the mobile space, to learn more about what they are up to. Patrick Kennedy: Sidebar is a company that was founded to bring consumers personalized content, focused on mobile delivery of that content.

A traffic jam of expensive cars lined up to pull into the packed parking lot of MuckerLab for its second graduating class demo day. Tech Coast Angel investor Dale Okuno came out because he believes that MuckerLab attracts better talent because they keep their class size small and focused. And build great business they have.

Entangled Media , one of the startups out of the current class at MuckerLab , has developed Younity (www.getyounity.com), a service which hopes to do just that--make your files available from anywhere. I use my desktop when I need the screen real estate or processing power. The idea is that we're context-based users now.

It was a great chance for the class to interact with the community in LA. Walk into any Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf in Southern California and you can’t miss their digital screens. They have developed a cloud-based platform for merchants to publish to multiple distribution networks, including social, mobile and email.

There are two ways you can use the app -- you can either play your iPad like it is a real instrument, by strumming the touch screen. I was kind of naive about it, and it ended up being my wife--who is a world class designer--those two guys, and myself. It teaches people how to learn guitar, ukulele, and banjo.
