Canoo takes the covers off of its debut electric vehicle

The Los Angeles-based startup Canoo has finally unveiled its first model, the eponymously named canoo. The Canoo designers have departed pretty radically from the traditional designs that other electric vehicle manufacturers have favored going with something that looks more like a VW Microbus than the sport utility vehicle that Byton is aiming for, or Tesla and Fisker’s sportscars and sedans or Rivian’s electric trucks.

Zingle Acquired By Medallia For $42M

Carlsbad-based Zingle , a developer of mobile messaging and customer experience software for the hospitality, travel , and retail markets, has been acquired by San Francisco-based Medallia , a provider of customer experience management software. Medallia said it will pay approximately $42M in cash for Zingle. Zingle had been backed by Rincon Ventures and Crosscut Ventures, and had raised $3M in its Series A funding round in 2016.

The financing came from Goldman Sachs. According to Catasys, it provides 7 of the 8 largest U.S. health plans, including Aetna and Humana, to identify members with untreated behavioral health conditions which worsen chronic medical disease.
