Report: IPOs On Track For Best Year Since 2007, But Only One Q3 Area Tech IPO

A new report today, issued by E&Y, says that the global IPO market is on track to be the best year since 2007. However, local numbers show only one technology related IPO in the local market-- Sienna Biopharmaceuticals in Westlake Village. The E&Y Global IPO trends report said it expects the total global IPO volume to reach 1,600 to 1,700 deals and a total of $190 billion in proceeds this year.

Qualcomm Rolls Out New Biometric Patch Design

San Diego-based Qualcomm said this week that it has rolled out a new line of single-use, biometric patches, through its subsidiary, Qualcomm Life. According to Qualcomm, it has released reference designs--used by engineers to develop their own products designs from the technology--that allows for the monitoring of patients with real time data. Qualcomm said it is using Benchmark Electronics as the FDA manufacturer of record for its new line of products.

Build It Green Seeks To Invest $26.8M In Energy Efficiency Efforts
