Per a recent study by networking giant Cisco , the world’s yearly mobile data traffic has grown 17-fold over the past 5 years, reaching 11.5 According to what I see, as outlined by Surdak, this data surge is being driven by the following six technological and social trends: Mobility: smartphones, tablets, and the “Internet of things.”

My background was 8 years of telecoms & mobile and 8 years of cloud computing & SaaS – so these two themes were a given. Two big themes have emerged in my head in the past 3 years: offline / online integration and mobile computing. They know what you bought the last time you were shopping. Or can they? They’re not.
