According to the school, the new course teaches some of the fundamentals of HTML, JavaScript, and CSS. According to the boot camp operator, the free course is aimed at anyone interested in preparing to attend its program, or anyone interested in the basics of coding--to determine if coding is something for them or not.

Realtime , a startup developing technology to help power real-time web applications, said today that it has raised $100M, launched in the U.S., The firm, which was previously known as Internet Business Technologies, said that it has developed a language, xRTML, that helps convert existing, static HTML into real-time, live web applications.

As a creative director at a software development company, I am always looking for ways to speed up our design and development process and to include as many people and teams working on the project. You do need to know the basics about how to code a site because you are basically dragging and dropping HTML and CSS elements.

One of the side effects of the war over Flash, has been with advertisers--particularly in Hollywood--who rely on Flash to help display their advertising banners and video to users. What that means, is the banner is no longer Flash, but it slcearly HTML-based, and video based. It certainly has challenges.

As a software developer I wrote code on what was called a “dumb terminal” because it literally had no processing capability. We ran software on the PCs called “terminal emulation” that allowed us to act like a dumb terminal to interact with mainframes and to act like a PC (with word processing, spreadsheets, etc.

Our business is helping those guys make more money, through our better ad product. Our ad product helps them close more RFPs, gives them better engagement, and creates additional inventory which is not just an ad spot on a page. At Jetpack, we don't outsource production, and we manage all of the software development within Jetpack.

Still, if you've not heard these questions from a developer, they are not helping you as much as they should. Do you want Flash video, HTML 5 video, or both?
