Hulu is the leading player for streaming television. Frankly, I’m surprised Netflix doesn’t buy Hulu. In my opinion it’s the most natural fit and it would give Netflix a very strong presence in Los Angeles and in TV (obviously subject to getting the right writes from the studios). Incumbents can’t react.

So what happens when production is reduced by 99% and distribution bends to infinity? Video production & distribution is becoming much more programatic. That would be like selling physical consumer products and deciding not to sell at Walmart. That is the definition of Disruptive Technology. MSN & AOL.

Those include quite a few brands you probably recognize, including Twitter, Hulu, Pinterest, EMI, Wordpress, Break.com, and a whole host of other companies. We caught on with the right product, at the right time. You have to be able to be disruptive to existing products and services. Those two typically don't go together well.

Advertising is also what allows you to watch Hulu for free, use Yahoo! And if they can monetize their follower base then they have an incentive to grow their base, Tweet more, engage more and write better quality Tweets.
