I thing I’ve learned over the years is that technology purists hate advertising even when it is that revenue stream that truthfully drives much of our industry. GoTo.com went on to ink huge distribution deals with Microsoft, AOL & Yahoo! Overture was sold to Yahoo! Immediately thereafter Amazon became a large business.

Speed is a key feature in every customer experience. Now Facebook’s market cap is nearly 500 times that number.

In what might be some new competition for Santa Monica-based Rubicon Project , the high profile ad optimization firm headed by Frank Addante, search engine giant Google told its advertisers late Wednesday that it will begin to offer similar capabilities in its AdSense program.

I had also spent five years at Overture and Yahoo, going back to the Goto.com days. I was recruited for the role when we were still at AT&T Interactive in October of 2008, by some of my former coworkers at Yahoo, who had already landed here. Google has to go through channels like us just to get to an advertiser.
