Any competition in LA? We haven’t identified any competition in LA, specifically. David Cohen from TechStars, someone I look up to as an entrepreneur, says that they don’t invest in ideas, but teams. Our team is very well-rounded, so we don’t worry too much about the competition. Athletes can join for free.

Always-on connectivity of mobile (164m US smartphone users). We’re all socially connected (so great businesses spread faster). The VC market has right-sized (returned back to mid 90′s levels & less competition). Online connections that are 180x faster (10.5 and the bigger funds can’t get in directly.

We spoke about my interest in cloud computing, digital media and mobile. I talked in specifics about a bunch of my investments including Factual , MongoLab , Maker Studios and Gogii (maker of TextPlus ).
