We recently sat down with Luc Berlin, co-founder of Miigle, a SoCal startup that has an aggressive global mission to bring entrepreneurs together from around the world. You can be an entrepreneur and at the same time you can be a mentor or an investor to someone else’s project. Back then we invested very little in design.

But, advisors, coaches, and mentors can often fill the bill. In creating Mentor Night , I’ve been happy to hear how giving most people are. If you present a mentor with an interesting startup challenge in a space where they have experience or expertise, the mentors are quite willing to spend a few hours to help the founder.

Beware of Mentors. In both cases, I was the mentor telling the person that the idea, as I understood it was "not great." I saw a great post from Tristan Kromer Pivoting on Investor Feedback a.k.a It was a top post on StartupRoar on Tuesday. Either: "That’s interesting. " One was an enterprise software product.

This helps to add some constraints to the design process as everyone has a clear idea of what the product isn’t. Design as an afterthought Mistakenly, many early-stage startups often don’t see value in investing in design early on, believing it is a luxury which can be bolted on later like some kind of magic stardust.
