Los Angeles-based Meetrix , a developer of an online virtual conference room service, said today that it has granted a patent by the U.S. Patent and Trademark office. Did anybody hold patents that would prevent us from using this technology? I seldom hire patent attorneys during due diligence but this was too important. We hired IP specialists to review prior art. We grilled their IP attorneys. We hired OSHA regulatory lawyers. And finally it comes down to the good old instinct test.
