EDF Renewables Puts North Dakota Wind Project Into Operation

San Diego-based renewable energy developer EDF Renewables North America has successfully put another project into operation, this time a 150 megawatt wind energy project in North Dakota. The company said its Merricourt Wind Project has been turned over to Otter Tail Power Company. EDF Renewables developed and managed the construction process for the wind farm, which is near Kulm, North Dakota.

EDF Renewables North America In Power Deal In Texas

San Diego-based clean energy developer EDF Renewables North America said on Monday that it has signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) for part of a new solar energy project in Texas. The company said that it has signed a 55 megawatt PPA with BASF for the new project, which is located in Wharton County, Texas. EDF Renewables said its new Space City Solar project is expected to start construction in summer of 2021, and will have a capacity of up to 345 MW.

Renewable energy developer BayWa r.e. , which has its US headquarters in Carlsbad, says it has completed construction of a 250 MW wind farm in Texas. According to the company, its Amadeus Wind project in Texas is located northwest of Abilen in Rotan, and has begun selling power into the grid. The new wind project is expected to supply enough energy to power more than 74,800 homes annually, and is its largest wind project completed to date.

Bel Air Internet Acquired By Private Equity Investor

Los Angeles-based Bel Air Internet , an Internet Services Provider (ISP) which serves over 800 buildings with multi-family and commercial services in Los Angeles, has been acquired by Boston-based private equity investor M/C Partners. Financial terms of the acquisition were not announced. According to M/C Partners, Bel Air Internet will be combined with two other ISPs, AerioConnect and Metro Fiber.

Apple temporarily closed all of its retail stores in California over the weekend, as rising case rates and a surge in COVID-19 cases has threatened to overwhelm hospitals in the state. Carlsbad-based satellite communictions provider Viasat announced this morning that it is in a definitive agreement to acquired RigNet , a provider of communications and connectivity services for the oil and gas industry. Accrding to ViaSat, the deal is worth aproximately $222M, and was an all-stock deal. RigNet was based in Houston, Texas. Viasat said the deal will help accelerate its efforts to bring broadband connectivity and communications to "hardest-to-reach locations around the globe.
