I thought the analogy was preposterous back in 2006-2007 but it has become obvious. In the summer of 2006 over a cup of Peet’s Coffee, you told me about this new thing called “cloud computing” and that you were trying to come up with a creative way to incorporate it into the curriculum of your upcoming UCSB Computer Science class.

Tonight I was reading a good blog post ( here ) from Sean Powers with Alistair Croll on preparing yourself for the TC50 “bump” – the rise in traffic that a company gets from presenting at TechCrunch 50. So many companies suck at managing their booths. So many companies suck at managing their booths. We were hot.

I was founder and CEO of one of the world's fastest growing software companies, PacketVideo, which created the software which is on billions of cell phones now. However, in 2006, my own son got cancer, and I was thrown into the sad state of affairs that goes into that. I'm humbled by the goodness of strangers and the kidness of people.

On December 2nd, 2006 I wrote the blog post published later in this post when I was CEO of startup Koral about my experiences in pitching VCs. After my company was acquired by Salesforce.com I was asked to stop blogging and they took over my blog as an asset in the sale of the company. Intent man works for the wrong company.

The world has changed much since I started my first company in 1999. Tim encouraged us to set up a blog and start talking openly about what we were doing as a company and inviting comments. This was 2006 and we were now working on our second company. My second company, Koral, was designed to be as simple as possible.
