Demand Media Unloads Cracked For $39M

Santa Monica-based Demand Media has sold Cracked , its online humor site, to the E.W. Demand Media acquired Cracked in 2007. Scripps Company , in a deal worth $39M in cash, the companies said late Tuesday. The sale comes as Demand Media has been seeing a steep drop in revenues from its content businesses.

Hulu Names New CFO

Los Angeles-based streaming television site Hulu announced late Friday that it has named Elaine Paul as its new CFO. Paul replaces Tom Fuelling, who had been at Hulu since 2007. Paul was previously SVP of Corporate Strategy at Disney, and also had worked at the Walt Disney Internet Group.
