I’ve been having discussions with several people recently about the role of the CTO (Chief Technology Officer) in very early stage companies. Los Angeles-based MySpace Music announced this morning that it has hired Dmitry Shapiro , who founded Veoh, as its new Chief Technology Officer. Shapiro will be based in Beverly Hills, and report to MySpace Music President Courtney Holt. Shapiro was founder and CEo of Veoh Networks until its bankruptcy filing in February. READ MORE>>.

Really, what it does is it allows a small venue--anyone with less than 500 seats--to handle everything from admissions, to reporting, to reporting, to accounting, to marketing, and customer relationships.
