Note: I invest almost exclusively in b-to-b software companies. Don’t Demo Me Bro. Sales Mode – Demos intrinsically cause Founders to launch into sales mode.

They demoed the electricity transfer with a physical device that looked like something that would never be allowed on an airplane. I seldom hire patent attorneys during due diligence but this was too important. We hired IP specialists to review prior art. But it seemed to work. I spent one hour with them.

This was in large part due to the marketing efforts of Jason that created a great top end of the funnel (100+ companies applied) and the herculean efforts of Tyler Crowley who spent days going through all of the submissions and serving up 5 very interesting companies. would acknowledge – they needed to get to the demo more quickly.

When emails get a bit longer due to background info I often break it up into sections (as I am doing in this post). I am soon going to start piloting a software application to help me do this. I met the founder and saw the demo and loved the functionality / approach. Any sociologist can tell you that.

Our most recent Demo Day in November 2018 (at Google/Venice on the main stage) was the most well-attended Demo Day in the history of Startup Boost. Are there any technology innovations, gadgets, devices, software, that you found most interesting in 2018? For many founders, this type of mature leadership doesnt come naturally.

The Disney Accelerator , held its Demo Day for its second class on Thursday, showing off ten companies to a theater packed full of venture and angel investors. A number of the companies--showing off one huge advantage of being involved in a program run by Disney--announced deals with Disney properties to use their technology and products.
