A trio of United Talent Agency execs said Friday that they have launched a new, media company focused on the intersection of Internet and entertainment. The firm said it will work with creative talent to "produce television formats with a web sensibility" and also help develop digital platforms into TV and digital projects.

SpotOn raises $300M at a $3.15B valuation and acquires Appetize

The latest investment is being used to finance the acquisition of another company in the space — Appetize, a digital and mobile commerce payments platform for enterprises such as sports and entertainment venues, theme parks and zoos. SpotOn is paying $415 million in cash and stock for the Los Angeles-based company.
