Redpoint Ventures is one of the venture capital firms which has straddled both Northern California and Southern California, with offices in both locations. It would be interesting to hear about where your interests are nowdays, there was a rumor Redpoint had backed off activity here lately. People can come in and have a coffee.

Fouad ElNaggar , a former venture capitalist who had been responsible for the Los Angeles office of Redpoint Ventures, has scored funding for a new startup, Sapho. Sapho develops software which helps pull together information across hundreds of enterprise apps, and presents them to employees as "micro apps". READ MORE>>.

Qualified , a startup developing conversational marketing software for companies that use Salesforce, said on Tuesday that it has raised $12M in its Series A funding. Sikola said Qualified is adding team members in Los Angeles shortly. Scott Beechuk, a partner at Norwest Venture Partners, joins the company's baord of directors.

In what is a huge blow to Silicon Beach, Santa Monica-based BetterWorks , the software-and-technology-meets-employee-perks startup run by Paige Craig, told its users today that it is sunsetting its site on May 31st. BetterWorks had raised $10M in funding from Redpoint Ventures. READ MORE>>.
