Most apps are about socialization of content, and displaying different media in those apps, and sending out some push notifications, so it really didn't make sense to make that all from scratch. The luck was Taylor Swift signing up organically in late 2009, which was our first major artist. Our apps do that extremely well.

Total raised: $83mm; Series B round (July 2009 for $43mm) valued company at $400mm. Greycroft is an early-stage VC. Time will tell. Note that these are “gross” revenue numbers.
