Ostendo Technologies Wins $58.3M Contract

Carlsbad-based Ostendo Technologies , a developer of solid state lighting and display technology, reported this morning that it has scored a $58.3M contract from the Air Force Research Laboratory. Ostendo says it is working on a project to create high performance, holographic 3D workstation display systems, viewable by multiple people.

Aurrion Gets $13.9M DARPA Contract

Goleta-based Aurrion , a developer of silicon photonics fabrication technology, reported today that it has been awarded $13.9M in a Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) contract. Aurrion's technology is aimed at allowing active components such as lasers and amplifiers to be fabricated on silicon wafers.
