Many observers of the venturecapital industry have questioned whether its best days are behind it. I can’t help feel a bit of rear-view mirror analysis in all of “VC model is broken” bears in our industry. They are, in fact, great news for traditional venture capitalists. I’ve heard a lot of people question whether there is too much money in venturecapital chasing too few great deals. Others believe that new business models are emerging that could replace venturecapital all together. We’re in a new tech bubble!” some have pronounced. More on that later.
At our mid-year offsite our partnership at Upfront Ventures was discussing what the future of venturecapital and the startup ecosystem looked like.
