The Idealab startup said the app lets developers create and run rich media, mobile banner ads to drive traffic to their app's download page and increase download for their iOS application. UberMedia said the online ads will run across its network of iOS apps, which it says now reaches over 2 billion monthly unique impressions.

At at time where nearly all advertising was purchased on a CPM (cost per thousand) basis and not very measurable this was a huge innovation that should be credited to Bill Gross, the founder of IdeaLab. I believe that many social networks confused this idea. The affiliate networking market alone is about a $2 billion industry now.
