One of the largest concentrations of technical talent in Los Angeles is in Glendale, at YP -- staffed with a surprising number of Los Angeles startup vets. I had also spent five years at Overture and Yahoo, going back to the Goto.com days. Our whole product and technology team is about 500 people. Louis and Atlanta.

New entrepreneurs, especially technical ones, are excited by early adopters, and tend to focus on their feedback, which will always suggest more product features and options. The company has since gone public, and is still a market leader. Track competition to stay ahead of copycats. Focus on the mainstream customer majority.
