Mission Ventures' Lee Departs For Stealth Startup

Jeff Lee , a senior associate at San Diego- and Los Angeles-based Mission Ventures , has quietly left the firm to head up a newly founded, stealth startup, according to Lee's LinkedIn profiles and bounced emails to his Mission Ventures address. Lee was helping to provide Mission Ventures with coverage of the Los Angeles area. Lee was involved in Mission's investments in SodaHead, Access 360 Media, and Active Storage, among other companies.

Enevate Finds $30M For Battery Technology

The funding came from Infinite Potential Technologies, Tsing Capital and Mission Ventures along with Presidio Ventures. Enevate, led by Brian Wong, is developing Li-iion batteries which the company says have "significantly higher" energy density than existing batteries. The most active investors in Southern California companies were Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers and Versant Ventures , with four deals each.
