The firm notably has Atari founder Nolan Bushnell as an advisor and serving as its chief game designer. I studied cognitive science, the study of the brain, as an undergraduate. So I actually started a graphic design company out of college, and got lucky with the web taking off at the right time.

He went to college to study art and design. But 10 years ago with the financial crisis he could no longer afford to study. He looked at Architectural Digest, Interior Design, Vogue, etc. His parents worked all day so he grew up with his grandmother who taught him the value of an education. I promise you won’t regret it.

Los Angeles is often thought of as just the city of entertainment and creative industries�but it turns out, it's a lot more. We recently did a study, and we found that there were nearly 3,000 new businesses created in manufacturing here in the last three years. It's actually a very complicated area.

But audience size and consumption is massive and growing plus; Study Innovator’s Dilemma ( my cheat sheet here ). No matter how much it bothers you, people do like to entertain themselves with a “lean back” experience. And we like to be entertained. And investing in content companies won’t return money!

We came together with the idea of designing something that specifically addresses the skills and opportunity gap in our country. Deborah Ramo: It's interesting, but my background is actually in the entertainment world. Eventually, the idea was that the entertainment industry's workforce would reflect our audience.
