SpotOn raises $300M at a $3.15B valuation and acquires Appetize

SpotOn’s goal is to be a “one-stop shop” by incorporating tools that include things such as custom website development, scheduling software, marketing, appointment scheduling, review management, analytics and digital loyalty. The combined company will have 1,600 employees — 1,300 from SpotOn and 300 from Appetize.

Hiring Developers Before Product/Market Fit?

Hiring seems to be the preferred use of seed funds (by investors and founders), whereas I'd prefer a focus on customer acquisition. You may end up hiring these people eventually and you'll know more about them when you do. The problem is you don't yet have product/market fit, and until you do, you don't really know what to build.
