Los Angeles-based StyleSpot , an online fashion and social shopping site founded by Rafi Gordon and Alex Amin, has been acquired by Kaboodle , the online social shopping site owned by Hearst Corp. StyleSpot was venture backed by Idealab, and had been founded in 2009. Kaboodle announced the acquisition late Friday.
A UK-based firm running an online price comparison shopping site said today that it has acquired the domain name Top10.com com from Pasadena-based Idealab , in a deal worth over $1M. Top 10 said Idealab has received a 7 percent share in the company as part of the deal, and that Idealab's Bill Gross has joined the firm's advisory board.

The prize, which is looking to award $10M to a team which develops a 100 MPG, super fuel-efficient vehicle, said that among the 22 teams which have registered for the prize are Idealab-backed Aptera Motors, based in Carlsbad, and Santa Ana-based Kinetix Motors. The X PRIZE competition will begin in 2009, with winners awarded in 2010.
