Fountain Valley-based HyperX, the gaming peripherals maker which recently was sold by Kingston Technology to HP Inc., According to HyperX, Betar will be involved in marketing activities, including virtual streams and developing original content. Financial details of the deal between HyperX and TimTheTatman were not announced.

Carlsbad-based Life Technologies , a developer of DNA sequencing technology, said Tuesday afternoon that it has agreed to buy Ion Torrent in a $375M deal. According to the firm, the cash and stock deal also includes up to $350M in additional consideration based on technical and time-based milestones through 2012.

Irvine-based Micardia , a developer of medical devices used for treating cardiovascular diseases, said Tuesday that it has raised a round of funding, which will provide it with $4.4M during 2012 and 2013. The firm said the round was an internal round.

Cimaging Media develops augmented reality technology. Cimagine was founded in 2012. Venice-based Snap, Inc. , the parent company of Snapchat, has reportedly acquired Israeli startup Cimagine Media. The deal is reportedly worth between $30M and $40M. The acquisition was first reported by a local Israeli financial daily.
