Los Angeles-based j2 Global , the online services and publishing giant, reported on Monday that its Q1 2018 quarterly revenues grew to $280.6 million, a 10.2 percent increase over Q1 of last year. San Diego-based Seismic , the private equity-backed provider of sales and marketing enablement tools, said on Tuesday that it has acquired SAVO Group , a provider of sales enablement products. Financial details of the acquisition were not announced. SAVO Group was founded in 1999, and serves the technology, life sciences, and financial services industries.
Eli Lilly is making a splash in the fast-moving, highly competitive field of cancer immunotherapy. With a $1.6 billion cash deal to acquire Armo BioSciences, the Indianapolis company has placed one of the boldest bets yet that cytokine drugs could be critical in expanding immunotherapy’s reach. Cytokine therapies for cancer aren’t new but they are attracting renewed interest. Some pharmaceutical companies see drug combinations using cytokines as a way to broaden the reach of immunotherapy, which still doesn’t work for the majority of cancer patients. This week, Eli Lilly (NYSE: LLY ) showed how much it believes in cytokines. The Indianapolis drug maker reached a deal to acquire Armo BioSciences and its pipeline of cytokine therapies for $1.6 billion in cash.
