Carlsbad-based Business.com , which operates an online site offering up resources for businesses, said it has named a new VP of Sales--and completed an overhaul of its website. Guardian News & Media , the firm behind web publisher ContentNext , is in discussions with potential buyers about a possible sale, according to a report from the firm's own site, paidContent. paidContent said that Guardian is working with Coady Diemar Partners on a possible sale. Names of potential buyers were not discussed.

Los Angeles-based Hello Music , which operates an online marketplace for musicians, said Wednesday morning that it has launched a new site focused on vintage and used music gear. Hello Music is headed by Rick Camino, and was founded in 2010; the firm is a portfolio firm of Elevator Labs, which develops, funds, and launched businessses.

Baroda In Fab.com's New $105M Funding

Los Angeles investor Baroda Ventures , the venture capital arm of David Bohnett, has re-upped on online fashion and e-commerce site Fab.com , in a big, $105M third round of funding for that site. Baroda has been an investor in Fab since its seed funding back in June of 2010. Bohnett is the founder of Geocities.com.

Hautelook Acquired By Nordstrom For $270M

Los Angeles-based HauteLook , the flash sales site run by Adam Bernhard, has been acquired by Nordstrom for up to $270M. Nordstrom said the buy will enable it to participate in the fast-growing private sale marketplace. According to Nordstrom, it will pay $180M in stock plus up to $90M in earn out over the next three years.

TrueCar Swizzles Billing Model, After Pressure From States

Santa Monica-based TrueCar , the online auto buying site led by Scott Painter, said Monday that it is addressing compliance issues and concerns with its service with a change to its billing model. TrueCar was charging dealerships a "success fee" for sales made due to leads from the site.
